Bermuda Triangles live mp3's and video

I wish this guy was recording shows when I lived in Richmond. The sound is pretty damn good, especially on the Nara recording. Check out these free mp3 downloads of Bermuda Triangles, recorded by Silver Persinger. Also, a video by Silver from their show on September 19 @ The Trippple w/The Intelligence.

Trip Glasses!!!!

All of the Compound crew have been having fun with these things we found recently called "Trip Glasses"... Dave just got some and mine are on the way. They don't make you feel like your tripping, they basically work like a Dream Machine using blinking LEDs and sound frequencies that match the brain waves of deep meditation. You won't see unicorns and rainbows, but you actually will see some really "trippy" shapes and fractal looking things and experience some weird sound effects. Plus, they really make your brain meditate, they look totally bad ass and the audio comes out of an eight inch headphone jack (I will be experimenting with that for sure)!!!! They work great sober, even better stoned... but I tried them actually tripping and I wouldn't recommend it.

You can buy a pair for only $40, CLICK HERE!

Here is a video of some peoples reaction to Trip Glasses, and then the creator Mitch Altman explaining how they work ("Trip Glasses" were originally called a "Brain Machine"):

And as a bonus, the same website that sells the Trip Glasses (www.makershed.com) also sells something called a "555 NoiseMusick Kit"... CHECK IT OUT!

Big Eats & Munch Crew - Pain Jams

From Bill Porter, aka Big Eats, here is the long awaited solo collection, "Pain Jams." Bill has played in many Richmond, VA bands including Hallelujah! and HO-AX. Currently, he plays percussion and keyboard for Bermuda Triangles. I just finished listening to it and it's really awesome. There are a lot of guests performing on it, hence the "Munch Crew," and it really adds a lot of flavor to some already tasty morsels. Hey, look! I made food references in a food-theme-named music project!

Below you will find a synopsis from Big Eats' blog, as well as a full download of the album, supplied by Bill himself. DAMN THE MAN!

"Here's something I've spent the last year or more wanting to release as a CDR. Since I have the power of the internet at my fingertips (as well as some free time) I've decided that it's time to just put this thing out for free online. I may make a limited run of them in November along with another project I've been working on called 'Women Of Rock' and 'Silver Ninjas'. I will also, in the near future post the full length self-titled release of 'Bloodbanks' (featuring Clifford Schwing on Sax) Big Eats is myself playing beats, samples, guitar, keyboards and basically whatever was around. Vocals are done by friends on certain tracks. On a couple occasions friends made sounds." - Bill Porter

Download:
Big Eats & Munch Crew - Pain Jams .rar
Files must be extracted after download. Download will expire on September 25, 2009. Also, please note, there is a permanent link to download the album if you go through Big Eats' blog. I made this special one, with fixed ID tags, because I'm a perfectionist that way.

Bonus track:
Big Eats - Abslt Sht (unfinished) .mp3
from the Black Fontanelle compilation, SING A RAINBOW!
This download will also expire on September 25, 2009.

Everything In Heaven Is TV

This is, by far, the greatest thing I've come across (thanks to Legs) since living in Austin. It's a public access show called "Everything In Heaven Is TV." It's only been on for one "season" which was just released, to buy, this past month. I can't seem to find where to buy the DVD on their site, but I'm sure if you contact them they'll work it out with you. Here is a brief synopsis from their website as well as some clips.

"Everything In Heaven Is TV is a Totally Wreck Production Institute Production in association with Channel Austin Public Access. Season One was released and aired during the fall season of 2008. Produced by Amanda Joy, Juan Cisneros, Eli Welbourne, Ben Aqua and Chad Allen. with the ongoing help and support of many like minded artists, salesmen, psychics, cats, psychic cats, and the love of many many confused viewers."

A BRIEF GLIMPSE INTO THE WORLD OF FREAKS!!!!

This is a 2 part post with the other half being posted at the THEE OUTERNET blog. I've been filming bands here in Richmond, VA this summer. Some of the footage is a little dark but that's because we have shows in dark sushi restaurants, dark pool-halls, and semi-dark bowling alleys. Here's a look into our seedy world:

First off we have local stand-up comedian DAVID MARIE-GARLAND with HEAD MOLTer Leah Peah:

Dave also has a really funny "live" mp3 up HERE for free download at WFMU's FREE MUSIC ARCHIVE!!!!

Next up we have Baltimore's apocalyptic-synth-minimalist and S.I.D.S. member DEATH DOMAIN:

And now we have local post hip hop artist/wizard DIAMOND BLACK HEARTED BOY:

His new 2 song EP featuring "Skinhead Lovers Rock" is available for free download, link found on his myspace page.

And last, but certainly not least, we have the disgusting death-throb and electronic-scatter from HEAD MOLT:

To see the other half of this post please click HERE!!!! Cheers!

SING A RAINBOW! CD almost out of print.

Times are tough, money is rough.

When we first released our latest compilation, SING A RAINBOW!, there were 200 copies pressed. Those copies are now down to about 20. This is not counting the copies still floating around Austin record stores and various other locations. Once those beautifully packaged, shrink-wrapped CD's run out it will still exist, but only in CD-R form. It'll still be pretty, but in a different way. Any ideas on how to make a CD-R version are greatly appreciated.

That being said, I've added some new tracks to OURSPACE, from this awesome disc, for a limited time. I wanted to put them all on there, but that's just not possible. Plus, I didn't want to assume I could upload too many of the many talented bands and artists without their permission. So head over and check them out. Putting the list on 'random' helps me listen. It's hard to decide a track order for songs that were already randomized to begin with. Here's what's new...

They Lean On Fences! by Modern Man (also available on his album, Machine Room)
Abslt Sht (unfinished) by Big Eats (Bill Porter solo track, beatnik apathy ensues)
Tornado Alley by Bermuda Triangles (Jason Hodges solo track also featured on Terror In The Tropics from CNP Records)
Such A Sad Day by Acheronian (unreleased track from VA's master of doom)
That's Right! by B L A C K I E (from Wilderness of North America)
B L A C K I E is performing along w/Bermuda Triangles and Head Molt, on Monday, in Richmond. You lucky sonsabitches.

also added:

Machismo (live 03.19.09) by Magic Jewels (recorded at our SXSW 2009 day show)
Magic Jewels are heading into the studio, next month, to record a brand new full length album. Details as they develop.
