Music is a part of everything. The only thing better than discovering it, is sharing it with someone else. The internet has many social music sites that are making that more and more possible. The problem is every time a site has it nailed they soon find ways of marketing it. Whether it's the ads that have been added to turntable.fm or the oh so annoying commercials that pop up on Spotify and Pandora. Or when you truly have something special, like piki.fm, which is shutting down in a few days.
I refuse to discover new bands while being inundated with marketing and advertising. So, my idea is a simple. I'm thinking of using this space to post a monthly mix. Just songs that I've been enjoying that month, but I want others to do the same. The idea only works if others want to play along. It's better to receive than to give.
If I get even a couple of interested parties involved, I think this could be really fun. My plan is to use mediafire.com to host my monthly mix. I suggest others do the same. They will give you 10gb free, to upload to, and the links are easy to use for even the least internet savvy of us.
More details soon.

Since 2002, I have been a part of 3 radio shows. I've begun uploading as much of those archives as I possibly can. Mediafire.com will give you 10gb for free, so let's see what that gets me.
